All good things come in three’s! Free webinar 29 May from 16:30 to 19:15 CET

CEL is hosting a free webinar with Cambridge Assessment English : Simona Petrescu

The past weeks have exposed us, teachers, to the immediate challenges of transferring our work from the familiar classroom to the online environment. We have gathered valuable experience using platforms, experimenting with tools, guiding students to activities or resources. We have searched for ways to create digital materials, distribute them to students, set tasks and deadlines, run virtual meetings, and collect course work from the learners.

Our three part webinar aims to build on this existing experience and provide a reflection pause on fundamental aspects of our teaching in this new age:

Part 1 What is the difference between digitalising our teaching, and making our classes digital? Could some of the challenges we have encountered in these past weeks be resolved, if we re-considered what digitalisation involves?

Part 2 In this reflection process, could we revisit some of the central tenets of our communicative teaching method, to see how they might be best carried out in the digital age?

Part 3 Specifically, how can we shape and maybe refresh the interaction models with, and among, learners, maximising the opportunities that technology creates?
