Aims and Benefits: These two 1/2-day workshops level A2-B1 show how teachers can integrate Cambridge English exams to support and develop core competences and strategies stated in LP21. Using the materials from Cambridge English exams, you will be shown how to develop reading and listening; speaking and writing competences and strategies that can be used for any coursebook syllabus and context on an A2-B1 level (A2 Key and B1 Preliminary for Schools). In doing so, teachers will see how Cambridge English exams or tasks are aligned with LP21 competences.
The aims and benefits of this workshop are twofold:
- a) to develop learners’ general language skills and competences whilst;
- b) developing core exam strategies and skills should learners take a Cambridge English exam in the future.

- Part One Workshop
29th August 2018: Focus on LP21 Reading and Listening Competences & Strategies Part
In this first of two practical workshops, teachers will be shown how Cambridge English and LP21 can work harmoniously together to develop core reading and listening competences and strategies.

- Part Two Workshop
12th September 2018: Focus on LP21 Speaking and Writing Competences & Strategies
In this second of two practical workshops, teachers will be shown how Cambridge English and LP21 can work harmoniously together to develop core speaking and writing competences and strategies.

*It is not obligatory to register for both workshops, as each seminar acts as a standalone session.
Speaker Biography- DINA BLANCO-IOANNOU
The two workshops will be led by Dina Blanco-Ioannou MEd BA (Hons) ELT, a professional English language teacher and teacher educator and trainer with over 22 years’ experience. She is a presenter and regularly gives workshops and seminars both at national and international events, presenting frequently at IATEFL.

Dina has taught in many different contexts including primary, secondary, tertiary and private language school sectors. She also has extensive experience in teaching and preparing students for Cambridge English exams.
Presently, Dina works as a teacher educator and trainer at the PH Institute for Secondary Education (lower secondary), FHNW in Basel. She is also founder of Lessons-in-Self, where she creates and delivers transformational education for life programmes for learners and teachers that aim to develop a healthy sense of Self and wellbeing. Her educational programmes reflect her professional and personal interest in effective and affective ELT approaches.
