To keep up with the market and keep yourself updated, we recommend the “A101: Introducing the Principles of Assessment”  an online course offered by Cambridge Assessment. The course covers Validity; Reliability; Fairness; Standards; Comparability and Practicality and manageability of assessment.

A101: Introducing the Principles of Assessment is a nine-week, online course for anyone with an interest in educational assessment and its role in society today, including examiners, assessment writers, professional bodies, teachers and those working for exam boards.

• No previous knowledge or experience needed
• Approx. 2-3hrs per week over nine weeks
• Choice of delivery models:
  • Monitored – Online group course delivered over 9 weeks featuring Monitor/Educator, discussion forum and journal
  • Peer supported – Online group course delivered over 9 weeks featuring discussion forum and journal
• Certification option for both models.

The course covers:

• Comparability
• Practicality and manageability of assessment

According to Marisa Constantinides, teacher educator and director of CELT Athens, “Reading is a key input skill in acquiring a foreign language”.

Reading is important to refine vocabulary, increase ability to interpret texts and to make you more creative. In addition, grammar and writing skills improve as well, which is important for tests and awards such as IELTS, CELTA, DELTA, etc.
